Is BookShark's History of Science a History or Science program?
The History of Science can be used as both! The program studies scientific advancement chronologically, covering much of world history from ancient Sumerians to modern times. The science concepts are covered in great detail, with heavy emphasis on physics and chemistry. It provides an excellent platform for young students to develop an application based understanding of chemistry, physics and advanced math.
Does the literature integrate with the History reading?
With the highly academic nature of the History program, we chose to surround it with classical literature and daily poetry reading. There is historical literature that ties to the History, but the Language Arts literature does not.
Is this a High School level program?
Yes, it can be used as a High School program! The History and Literature is designed for ages 13-15 and can be used as an eighth grade to High School level program.
Can I use this package with both my children?
Yes, you can! Your students will be able to share most of the resources in the package including the Timeline Book.
Not sure if this is the right fit? Please review the options below to find a package that will work for both of your children:
- Ages 10-13 | Level F All-Subject Package
- Ages 11-13 | Level G All-Subject Package
- Ages 12-14 | Level H All-Subject Package
- Ages 14-16 | American History & Literature 100
If there is more than a three year age difference between your children, we recommend that you purchase a separate package for each student.
What are the “Required Resources” and why are they required?
The Required Resources includes a big binder with 36 week tabs for your Instructor’s Guides, The Timeline Book, a reusable Markable Map, and a set of wet-erase markers. These resources will be reused in almost every level of our History program and can be shared by multiple students. You will be given the option to purchase these items every time you buy an All-Subject or Reading with History Package, but you only need to buy it once.

The decision to homeschool our daughter, Alexa, was an easy one. Choosing a curriculum that worked well with her goals and schedule was a little more difficult.
