Unlike most BookShark Science programs, Science J does not include read-alouds. Instead, this program for ages 14-16 includes two main components: a Science Supplies Kit and a Student Lab Book (includes Parent Guide). The 36 labs are designed to complement the BookShark's Level J History of Science and require some knowledge of basic algebra.

The Student Lab Book includes:

• Science lessons which review concepts from the reading assignments in BookShark's Level J History of Science curriculum
• Weekly, step-by-step, photographed instructions for lab experiments that correlate to the science concept of the week
• Consumable Lab Activity Sheets for the student to record their results
