New for 2021!

This engaging, new Science course combines BookShark’s signature, literature-based approach with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Through captivating literature and experiments, our highly academic program utilizes NGSS crosscutting concepts to unify the study of science and engineering through common application.

Science F students will dive deep into the application of science, learning about stars and the solar system, human impact on earth’s materials and systems, matter and energy, and properties of matter.

The literature starts with How to Be Good at Science: Technology, and Engineering, a comprehensive showcase of science and technology.  The book is packed with eye-catching illustrations explaining everything from atoms and microchips to the multi-layered structure of the earth. Students will also read a spectacular full-color book on space, an eye-opening guide that explains the water industry, and a biography about the award-winning author and marine biologist Rachel Carson.

Experiments range from:  engineering a catapult, constructing an articulating hand, making plastic from corn, and many more!

Can I use this package with both of my children?

Yes, you can! If your children are within three years of age, they can share the same BookShark Science package. Please note that you will need an extra set of Science E Student Activity Sheets for each additional student (one set is included with the Instructor's Guide), as well as the consumable workbooks TOPS 32 - Electricity and TOPS 33 - Magnetism.

Can my students share the Science Supplies Kit?

Yes! If your students are willing to work together as lab partners, they can share the resources in the Science Supplies Kit E. You may want a second kit if you prefer that each student perform every experiment, or if you have more than two scientists sharing the Science package.

Do I need a microscope for Level E Science?

There are several optional microscopy experiments scheduled in the Science E Instructor's Guide and we think your children will love the opportunity to see the invisible world that is revealed under a microscope lens. Please note, however, that a microscope is not required for a successful Level E year. The illustrations within the Complete Book of the Microscope (included in the Level E Science Package) are perfectly adequate to show your children what they need to know.

If you would like your children to perform the microscopy experiments, be sure to purchase the Microscopy Science Supplies Kit E and (if you do not have one) a microscope! We recommend the BookShark Ultra Microscope. Our professional model microscopes can be used and re-used up through High School.

For a lower cost alternative, please consider purchasing our palm-sized Miniature Magnifier/Microscope instead. It is powerful enough to do the beginner projects scheduled in the Science E Instructor's Guide and does not require purchase of the Microscopy Science Supplies Kit E.

The decision to homeschool our daughter, Alexa, was an easy one. Choosing a curriculum that worked well with her goals and schedule was a little more difficult.
