Vocabulary
Natural Language Learning
Our vocabulary development program is based on and ties in with our History programs' Read-Alouds. You will find all the words and instructions for Vocabulary Development in your History Instructor's Guide. If you find your children require additional help or you prefer a workbook-oriented program we offer and schedule the Optional Wordly Wise books in our Level 2 thru J Language Arts Guides.
Wordly Wise
Exercises ensure students are able to comprehend what they read when they run across the words in context, give students confidence that they can use the words in writing, and teach students the words' various meanings.
A special "Wordly Wise" section at the end of each lesson discusses words with interesting histories, and distinguishes between words that people commonly mistake for one another.
Wordly Wise 3000 workbooks 1 through 9 each introduce 300 words. While their purpose is similar to the "standard" Wordly Wise series, their exercises are different. They incorporate interesting literary pieces and fascinating historical tales. Each lesson includes a series of five exercises.

Vocabulary from Classical Roots
Exercises begin by studying root words from their original languages and seeing the root word in different English contexts. Exercises include practice usage in sentences, synonyms, antonyms, and analogies. Great for students preparing for the SATs.
This program is created for high school level students. The series also has an optional test booklet you may add on to your order.
Books A-C have the same structure, so the schedule is interchangeable. Book D has one extra exercise per vocabulary list.
