Does this integrate with History?
With the highly academic nature of the History program, we chose to surround it with classical literature and daily poetry reading. There is historical literature that ties to History, but Language Arts literature does not.
Is this high school level and what makes it a high school level?
Yes, this course was developed for high school students ages 14-18. BookShark High School Levels can be used in whatever order is best for your student. BookShark's overall Scope and Sequence include three touches on Cultures, World History, and American history from Level A through high school. This level goes more in-depth to analyze worldviews and covers a wider range of topics than previous levels. This program also requires student-led research.
Can I use this package with both of my children?
Yes, you can! Your students will be able to share most of the resources in the package including the Timeline Book.
Not sure if this is the right fit? Please review the options below to find a package that will work for both of your students:
- Ages 13-15 | Level I
- Ages 14-18 | Level J
- Ages 12-14 | High School U.S. History and Literature
If there is more than a three year age difference between your children, we recommend that you purchase a separate package for each student.
Which Math program/level will be best for my child?
Math, like reading, is a skill-based subject. It is important to pick a program and a level that fits your child’s learning style and ability. Please take a look at our Resources page for a comparison of our different math options. We also have placement tests to help you figure out the appropriate starting point for your child.
Can I purchase the package without Math?
Our Reading with History Packages are built to include customizations you can use for your school year: History, Reading, Language Arts, and Math. We love our packages so much that we discount them 15% off the retail price.
What are the “Required Resources” and why are they required?
The Required Resources include two big binders with 36-week tabs for your Parent and Student Guides, and The Timeline Book. These resources will be reused in every level of our History program and can be shared by multiple students. You can purchase these items every time you buy an All-Subject or Reading with History Package, but you only need to buy it once.

The decision to homeschool our daughter, Alexa, was an easy one. Choosing a curriculum that worked well with her goals and schedule was a little more difficult.
